On Oct. 23, about 250 attended a presentation by Jamie Stirling of Stirling Benefits, the administrator of the TRB retiree insurance plan. He provided information on our retiree health insurance, the tie in to Medicare, and, in general, what changes may be ahead in health insurance.
Jamie stressed that, because of our input to the Teacher Retirement Board as individuals, but more importantly as an organization, our concerns are heard. One example is the shingles vaccine, which is now covered by the TRB policy.
Jamie did an outstanding job and posted is his Power Point presentation for those who were unable to attend.
He also stressed that membership gives us credibility, and it means we speak for many-not just a few.
