Retiree TRB Election Endorsement Update

Dear Retirees,

We are sending this out again because some people have said they did not receive the first email. Please forward this to any retired educator you know.

The Association of Retired Teachers of Connecticut is now at a critical crossroads where it is important to support candidates to the TRB who we are confident will advocate for issues that matter most to all retired teachers. These issues include a strong pension, a fair and stable COLA, moving to a 100 percent state income tax exclusion and protecting retired teachers’ fair and equitable choice of health insurance plans.

The ARTC Newsletter contained in this email describes the recent passage of the law which allows you to elect two more retired teachers to the Teachers’ Retirement Board. It also provides background information for the two candidates enthusiastically endorsed by the ARTC: Rita McDougald-Campbell and Edwin Vargas.

Mark Your Calendar for the following election activities:

Voting begins on September 28 and ends on November 2, 2023.

You will receive a ballot from the TRB’s approved vendor, YES Elections, either by email or USPS. Please look for communication from YES Elections so that your ballot does not accidentally get thrown away.
